Hello I am modeling flow in straight rectangular microchannel with TEC (thermoelectric cooler). Right now I don't have any TEC, just a rectangular straight microchannel. I am using constant material property and density is equal to 1680 kg/m3. But the pressure drop I am getting doesn't match with the existing correlation. So I checked the solution and found that the area weighted density at the inlet and outlet is not equal to 1680(defined in materials panel). Can anyone tell me why this is happening?

Thanks

Vivek

Hi

What type of BCs did you ues for the walls? Try mass-weighted average for density and also check if the mass flow rates at the inlet and outlet are equal to see if the solution has converged.

I hope this helps

I am using Velocity inlet at the inlet and Pressure outlet at outlet. All the walls are adiabatic except the bottom one where constant heat flux is specified. I checked mass flow rate at inlet and outlet. They are same.

The mass weighted density is 1686 and area weighted density is 1705
