Set the DISPLAY environment variable correctly ... ask your local linux system admin to assist.

Do you log in into another computer? Do you do this then via telnet or ssh?

Try ssh -X [host].

Big X pls, then I think you can start your software, without any problems.

Good luck,

Hi I tried , ssh -X still i am getting the same error.

I set env variable as

export DISPLAY=10.93.202.52:0.0

is this correct.

Thanks

Are you sure, that you used an upper-case X?

check the man-page for ssh: man ssh

Then you needn't set the env variable any more. But maybe the ssh-server is not configured for this.

Anyway, there is no mistake to set the variable, I guess, and the way you do it, is correct. But be sure, that the IP-Ad you type in is that of your own computer, and not the host's. To find out your own IP (on your computer): /sbin/ifconfig

to find out your screen-id (on your own computer): echo $DISPLAY

this should be working then.

Good luck!

Try this in a terminal:

fluent 2ddp -driver x11

or

gambit -driver x11

Hi,

I tried as u said.

I read SSH man. it was said that one should not set the display variable. I did not set it then.

I used upper case X.

Still it is saying

"Unable to open display"

Please help me.

Thank you
