Wedge Impact Problem
Hi ..
I am trying to solve the water-entry problem of a thin rectangular wedge (falling under the influence of gravity from a height of about 12 inches). Experiments show that a ventilated cavity is created as the wedge enters water at an angle of attack. I am inlcuding a link (https://webspace.utexas.edu/vv387/wedge.pdf) which shows results obtained from an experiment. I have tried the VOF and Mixture Multiphase models combined with 6-DOF/Dynamic Mesh scheme in Fluent, but I cannot capture the ventilated cavity. Any help/suggestions in this regard is really appreciated. Thanks Vimal |
