coal ultimate/proximate analysis

Hello I'm currently modeling coal combustion. I'm given the ultimate and proximate analysis of coal. How do you convert these parameters (C, H, O, N, Ash, Moisture, Char, etc...) into CFD input for reaction?

Thank you

Hey man,

I know that basically you have to come up with some assumptions and then convert the analysis to CO2, H2O, etc.

Hope it helps, Pirooz

Have a look at 15.4.4 of teh users manual, and pretty much ll teh chapter on non-premixed combustion: they give you a really good description. You'll also need teh calorific value (about 30 MJ/kg bulk).

Hope it helps, Hugh.
