Hi,
I would like to model two phase flow (sand water mixture) with sand concentration around 50%. Could anyone tell me how difficult it is and how reliable results are? Thank you Ewa |

It's not so hard.
Probably you will use the Euler-Euler multipyhase model. Solid phase (sand) will be declared as granular, or maybe packed bed (with such high concentration). You should be cautius with the drag coefficient. Look which of them (Wen & Yu, Syamlal O'Brein) suits better for your case. You may have to write a custom one (through UDF). I hope i helped! |

It should not be too hard! Having the proper drag coefficient, you will get reasonable results.
What are you interested in? Cheers Pirooz |
