How can i create an mpeg of the stream lines released from inlet using fluent. I know how to generate them on the screen but I cannot create the mpeg for the same. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Actually it need VCR But why you dont use and injection particle?

You can use Fluent to make an mpeg of pathlines of massless particles at individual timesteps by using the animation panel and then the scene panel. Make frame 1 time zero and then frame 100 (or whatever) the time when the particles leave the domain. The manual explains it okay. This works but doesn't show continous pathlines. For this, you can use a third-party capture program (like Hypercam)to record what is animated on the screen. Again, in my experience, the quality has not been 100% satisfactory, but it is serviceable.

We have looked at buying Techplot to this but haven't got around to it yet. Good luck.
