Text input commands to add data points

Hi - Does anyone know where I can find any information about text inputs? I want to add some data collection points to my model, I know how to add them one at a time but I was wondering if there is a command that i could use along with copying and pasting excel data. Is there a list of the text commands you can use? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
