activate species transport reactions

"Thermal modeling of the biomass gasifier"

I am working on CFD based "Thermal modeling of the biomass gasifier".

I could create a mesh file on gambit and could export the same to fluent and I am through with the velocity modeling with porous media, K-omega SST model.

Further I am trying to extend this work to combustion modeling (to convert wood & volatiles to producer gas)

Model I am using is non pre-mixed model

The problems that I am facing is as follows I could not find 1. How to ignite the wood packed inside the reactor. 2. How to activate the reaction (species transport part) and define the various reactions inside the reactor.

The ultimate task is find the composition of the producer gas

1.With different equivalence ratio 2.To find out the temperature distribution across the reactor. 3.Variation of Hydrogen, Methane, CO, CO2, N with variation in moisture content, temperature & equivalence ratio.

I look forward for your valuable inputs in this matter.

With regards

Re: activate species transport reactions

try with Injection option in fluent where u can inject after enabling the non premixed combustion model

Do you know how to calculate ER
I m working on gasifier modelling bt every time after iteration o n grid display my entire grid is empty even though i m writing both homogenous and heterogenous reaction. what am i doing wrong
