This tutorial seems fine
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oInrZqVmDVY However I am thinking now how to make an assembly with saving of inner surffaces. There is a fluid volume in this tutorial that is hidden in the pipe. Author of tutorial says to save the assembly as part (SLDPRT). After such save Solid saves only outter surfaces and two circles left from a fluid volume. If anybpdy knows how to save assembly as a part saving all the inner surfaces..Good man! I will appreciate very much your help! Another tutorial is here, but unfortunately only for russians(( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EK994Vfg4u0 |

I tried parasolid instead of SLDPRT and Got some problems with named selections.. Ansys said "model information is incompatible with incoming mesh" and said that there are no surfaces for one of my named selection..however it was.

Cant we just use "dont merge" option ? Why we should assemble parts ? Is it because of the faces ?
Thank you, |

don't merge option in Solidworks?)
I didn't see that. I am just talking about the tutorial and that some actions fail in practice.. (which is strange) |

Hm-m..cool
I'll try it in Solidworks in the evening. And by the way there was something strange with fluid region..It had two surfaces betweeen the circles (two walls of the pipe) I am not a professional user.. so I don't know what is a problem. |
