Which turbulence model to choose?

Hi folks,

was wondering if anyone can recommend any academic papers, articles or books which specify the advantages of certain models (e.g. k-epsilon, k-omega, RSM, etc)?

I need to choose one for my university project, but need to back up my choice with valid reasons.

hopefully someone out there can help.

Regards,

Si Del

You should just look up the FLuent Documentation.

There are two books which discuss turbulence modelling and give case studies and very good references. They are both introductory texts for CFD as a whole but WELL worth reading:

1) An introduction to computational fluid dynamics - the finite volume method. H. Versteeg, W. Malalasekra. 2nd edition is best. ISBN 0131274988

2) Computational Fluid dynamics - A practical approach - 2008, J. Tu.

Good luck!

Carlos.
