Question about meshing
Hi, I hope someone help me. I have a question. There is a grid that meshed by hexahedral and tetrahedral elements. So in one computational domain, hexahedral and tetrahedral elements are coexisting. If I use such a grid, can I get a reasonable solution?

Thanks, akr

Re: Question about meshing
Yes you can mix different types of cells in a domain and get good results. It works fine for me! The key is to use as many hex cells as possible to reduce numerical diffusion. You can then use Tet cells for complex geometry.

A good method is to create your domain then split with connected faces and mesh the individual sub-volumes as appropriate.

Good luck,
