k-epsilon

Hi,

To calculate k, I have found that k=(3/2)(uI)^2 where I is the turbulence intensity. However, how to estimate the turbulence intensity with regards to airfoils if I have no actual data.

Regards

Re: k-epsilon

Typically for a Re=50,000, the turbulent intensity is 10%. You can also estimate I based on the definition that I=u_rms/u_mean. Hope this helps.
