Changing RPM

Hi I have modeled a vertical turbine and I need the transient results. So I made a sliding mesh model. I want that the turbine starts from RPM=0 at t=0 and RPM increases at each time step to reach its actual RPM. In boundary condition I want to set variable RPM for one of my zones which is included the turbine. But I found that when I choose moving mesh I dont have this opportunity to set variable RPM or select UDF for that. Is there any way to change RPM by time in fluent for sliding mesh? my e-mail is amir.birjandi@gmail.com I would appreciate that if some one can help me.

Re: Changing RPM

Hello,

You can only define velocity (transitional or rotational) of the mesh, not acceleration with the sliding mesh. Perhaps you have to use dynamic mesh instead.

You can very probably do this with an udf... Check the udf tutorial and manual...
