Wave simulation

I am working on an undergraduate project where we are fabricating an ocean energy converter. for this i need to simulate a flume using fluent. i went through the wave tank tutorial given by fluent. i have a doubt regarding that, the function given in that C program which defines the movement of the wall, what is its relation with the wavelength, amplitude and the time period of the wave. As in how does one formulate that function for a given wave height and time period. Secondly i need the wave to go and crash against an obstacle and then i wud obtain the pressure plot on the obstacle. is it enough if that obstacle is modeled as a part of the geometry or do i have to specify any linking between the water phase that i patch and the obstacle.

I would really appreciate if someone could help me out at the earliest. Thank you.
