Default 0-Thickness obstacle in a 2-d flow field meshing

theoneinaminion is on a distinguished road
I created a surface and a line body (from two points) as shown in fig 1. I need a plate of zero-thickness (can't be changed) as the obstacle, hence the single line.





When i mesh it. the grids go right thru the line as if it doesn't exist as shown in fig 2. I am stuck at this problem since a week. I am a beginner and i have no idea what to do next.
