Display particle tracks with Tecplot
 
Hello, is it possible to display particle tracks with Tecplot ? Indeed, I use the Discrete Phase Model of Fluent and I can display these particles with Fluent, but not with Tecplot. In Tecplot, with the "Fluent data loader", there is an option "include particle data", but I don't understand how to use it.

Dear all,

you can easily use fluent data loader of tecplot. you should tick the option "Include particle information" and you should add case and data files of fluent, then you have access to all of your injections as different zones. if you have large number of case and data in unsteady particle tracking, you can just load boundaries and particle information to prevent running out of your RAM.

Dear all,

I have the same problem. I can see the particle track on fluent. I save the case and data and when I load the data in tecplot360, even if I checked the boxe "include particle data" I can't see the zone for the injection.

Is there a special way to save track and injection in fluent to be able to see them in tecplot?

Anyone know how can I animate unsteady particle tracking. Animate>Define option dont animate.I want to take particle tracking on different flow times.:confused:

Anyone know how to setup the configuration of file saving in a transient running?
I can only get one .cas file and a lot of .dat file after solving.
However, Tecplot need pairs of .cas and .dat files to import the data.

Yes, you are right and it's enough. you only need one case + one data or more data files. you could load all of your datas with this case in the same time if you have enough memory, or go one by one. It means you could just use one case for loading all of your data sets.

This is true in general cases, but not true if you used sliding mesh; in this case you need pairs of cas/dat for each time step to load into tecplot.

hi amir, for adding particle data, I must do any extra step for saving data in fluent or not?
