HI. I m a new kid in the town of cfd. i have a problem. hope somebody can help digging it.
suppose, an aluminum can of non-zero thickness is placed over an aluminum plate. inside the can , there is a constant heat source. the outside of the can wall is maintained at a constant temperature. i want to find the temperature profile of the surroundings.but when i import the mesh from gambit to fluent, i cannot set constant wall temperature boundary condition rather it shows that this option is not applicable for such wall. i don't know how to get rid of it. can anybody help me? |

The wall u r trying to apply constant BC seems to be the internal wall. My doubt have u defined this as internal wall in gambit (if u have not defined in gambit, u can define the same in fluent too). If that wall is internalthen u should have 2 sides to it. u can define ur BC in either of thi sides which is sufficient. I think u might have to try to apply ur BC for an interior zone not for an internal wall. Try it lets see.
