Default Steady state DPM - Convergence and particle tracks

Hello All

I am trying to do a steady state DPM Model for droplets moving in a capillary from pressure inlet to pressure outlet

The flow equations converge

But when i try to solve for discrete particles with single particle injection, the particles log shows

injection = 1 incomplete =1

for every particle this is the case and the contours show a non-zero DPM concentration for a little distance from inlet and beyond that the simulation doesn't seem to indicate particles moving any further. Particle tracks are getting terminated

Can anyone tell where there is error in DPM modeling

First of all I don't think there is any error, it's just a normal result for the DPM settings you're using. I suppose you have to increase the Max. Number of Steps in the DPM setup panel. I never use the default number (500) since it's too small for my simulations (I use at least 5000). It really depends on the length of your domain and you have to adjust it until there are no more incomplete trajectories. Then if your flow is turbulent you might want to increase the number of tries in the Injection setup panel.

I usually end up using 75,000 as the max number of steps for DPM.
