Hi, Can Fluent import a geometry from solidworks? Is it efficient or not? Thank you, John

Gambit can import an ACIS file, so you can export your SolidWorks file to ACIS and import it into Gambit.

You can also import as IGES or ASTep format Solidwork files.. It should work.

ACIS format (*.sat) is the best. I have great experiences with that! You should always import volume bodies.

You can use direct read which will retain fidelity so the sat file can come straight in avoiding translation. However this will be virtual (c_* entities). Translation will convert to real but information could be lost. Also you can try using the SW CAD connection tool for Gambit (for SW2006/07/08) for transferring and maintaining 1 way associativity with Gambit.
