Problems with non-conformal mesh

It is my first time trying to use the non-conformal mesh feature in gambit & fluent and i canīt make it work. Fluent rejects the surfaces defined as "interior" or "internal" and re-defines those as walls. (Iīm not sure what interior or internal means for gambit anyway, but seemed appropiate). Are there any tutorials or similar or any kind of help?

Thanks.

Regards, Nicolás

Re: Problems with non-conformal mesh

change the walls to interfaces then setup in define>grid interfaces

Re: Problems with non-conformal mesh

I already did so, thatīs why iīm here and yes, I am dumb. Once I set up all bc, solver models, grid-interfaces, etc, I try to make it run and delivers an error message (canīt recall now which error).

1) redefine wall zones as interfaces 2) Define a grid interface by coupling two (or more) zones corresponding to the interface (both grids are part of the same object, so i donīt select any interface type). 3) carry on as usual wright?

I couldnīt even make it work for a pipe and a box joint!

Re: Problems with non-conformal mesh

the interface zones have to reside within local node tolerance of each other in order for the NCI to be created. Do a grid check once created. Initialisation will set up the interfaces in the solver. If you have an email I can send a simple pipe/box dbs from gambit and associated cas/dat. There are example Fluent NCI tutorials on www.fluentusers.com (film cooling example).

Thank you! I could make it work before i red your message, but didnīt know why it run properly. I suppose it was about the grid check and initialization as you said.

Thank you very much again.
