Chimney

Hey everybody, I'm working on a vertical chimney, wich evacuate the gaz naturaly (naturel convection) but i stuck with the boundary conditions; does anyone can tell what to use at the inlet and outlet of the chimney, and how to tell Fluent that a depresion of -2285 Pa exist between the inlet and outlet? Thanks for helping me.

Pressure boundary conditions at inlet and outlet.

Re: Chimney

thank you Allan for your reponse, the boundary that you suggest me are OK, but how to introduce the value of the depression -2285Pa between the inlet and outlet?

Re: Chimney

Type it in. For example, set the static pressure at the bottom as 0 Pa and the top -2285 Pa. Am I missing something in your question? 2285 Pa difference from bottom to top is quite a bit for something like flue gas and should develop a relatively high velocity. Good Luck.

thank you Allan, I did this before but as you said i get a very high velocity witch does not verifie the experimental investigation, my problem is a chimney of 200 m,and i found that we have a depression of about -2285.

I know you guys would have a clue that would help me in my problem with modellng buoyancy in fluent. I would enjoy long conversations over e.mail or a talk over the phone, i am in UK and wouldn't mind calling across countries. my e.mail rahaernest(at)yahoo.co.uk

I would appreciate your support
