Representing real length in Gambit

Hi I need to ask if I want to study the flow within a pipe has a length 35 meter and 20 cm diameter should I draw the real length in Gambit it or no?

Thanks a lot

I am no really sure, but no, is not neccessary all gemetry. You can draw a symetry pipe, depend if you are simulating heat transference or just flux

dear jorge many thanks for the reply. If i draw the pipe as symetric with the radial direction I want to ask here what about the overall length should I take all of it ? I think the pipe cannot be symetric a long the length (axial flow)?

Re: Representing real length in Gambit

Ok. Look, You can working the pipe how symmetry if the flux is steady, laminar, Newtonian and, don't there are interchange with exterior, or you can specifics this interchange along the pipe and there are isotropic. This is, the radial profile is the same along the pipe. but, If the conditions are different along the pipe, the option is draw all long pipe, and may be insert it in a external domain for simulate boundary conditions. kind regards

Re: Representing real length in Gambit

my question not about the radial direction in addition to that i have no problem with make this direction as symetric or no I just ask about plotting the actual length in gambit for the geometry because I worked with long pipes nearly 35 meters and as you know this need a large number of mesh hence I asked if there is a way to take a part of length to rapid caluclations furthermore I not know how the flow behavies along the pipe so i donnot know if the condition is the same hope you undersatand me now?

thanks
