dpm-help!!!

Hi guys,

I am a novice in fluent and I have not understood if in DPM the mass flow rate is important only for a coupled calculation. I know the difference between parcel and particle, but if I would like to inject only one particle...how can I calculate the mass flow rate? the mass of a particle is just the density for the volume of the particle? Sorry for the stupid question but I am very confused!!

Mass flow rate is important for both coupled as well as non-coupled.

Please, can you explain me the difference of parcel n packet?

Okay, as I understand when you are injecting one particle then mass flow rate shold not be the problem,,,,u can keep it anything but inject only one particle!!!

this is how I understand....plz, let me know the difference of parcle n packet?

Re: dpm-help!!!

Fluent injects parcel, each parcel is rapresentative of more particles. For example, if you select inject from surface, Fluent will inject one parcel per node, doesn't matter the amount of mass flow. But if you increase the mass flow, each parcel will represent more and more particles.

Okay I got the point. But, how should I know the how much each parcel contains the particles for particular mass flow rate....

Getting curious to know this one.

Thanks in Advance prashant
