Question with immiscible liquids.
Dear all, i would like to ask whether it is possible to set in Fluent or do a similar operation that has the same effect of telling the system that two fluids are immiscible? I ran a simulation recently with two immiscible fluids but it came out with some regions that have different volume fractions, which somehow seems that one fluid has dissolved into another. Please advice.

Re: Question with immiscible liquids.
I would also like to ask whether it is something that i could solve by putting in an UDF or is there other simpler methods?

Re: Question with immiscible liquids.
for immisible fluids you must change the multiphase flow model to VOF.

Re: Question with immiscible liquids.
Hello,
I'd say the same. And it's normal to have "different volume fractions" in some regions, as the finit volues it may contain different quantities of the different fluids, even thought they're immiscible. My best regards, Victor |
immiscible fluids
good morning,
i had the same problem i changed the solver to VOF, but i have obtained a result compatible with 2 miscible fluids. actually i have the flow of oil into water i was looking for a formation of bubbles but i found a vortex.is it normal?.i hope to know if there is any method to define 2 immiscible fluids. plz need an answer.thank you |
... interaction between phases... find this parameter and set it correctly
|
thank you..i set the interaction, i enabled wall adhesion and set the tension surface to 32dyn/cm...and the result is the same i mentioned before.do you think that i did a wrong step?
thank you for your reply. |
