Problems starting parallel fluent on linux

Hi, I have a dual core (one physical CPU) machine and when I try to startup fluent with 2 processes, it simply doesnīt load. I tried the command: fluent 2d -t2

Any advice or help? Thank you in advance.

DO YOU HAVE MORE THAN 1 SERIAL OR AT LEAST 1 PARALLEL LICENSE? WHAT IS THE RETURN MESSAGE?

Thanks for responding. The problem is not with the license. It tries to connect both cores with ethernet connection. Tried to change the flag that indicates the connection type, changed to MPI but nothing happened. Could you give an example to start fluent in the command line for two processes (remember Iīm talking about a single PC with a dual core CPU)

Thank you!

fluent 3d -pnet -t2 should be fine to start fluent. -tN is the just the number of processes to start each of which requires a license. Does serial fluent start ok? What is the error message when trying to start a parallel session?

First of all, thanks for the response. Yes, serial fluent starts and runs ok. Basically, when I start parallel with fluent -t2 itīs freeze trying to connect the other core via ethernet, so I think thats the problem. What does -pnet flag means?

Thank you again. (Tomorrow Iīll try that command and will tell you)

Re: Problems starting parallel fluent on linux

-pnet is just the socket connect ie -p for the parallel option and net for the ethernet argument.

I think thatīs the problem because if fluent is trying to connect both cores with ethernet, it will never can! I mean, why ethernet if Iīm using a single PC with dual-core CPU? Thanks.
