What is 3D turbulent velocity profile ?

For 2D case computation, beside using uniform velocity for inlet, we can assume developed profile as u=U(y/h)^1/7, that is power law of 1/7. (Assume x is flow direction, h is half height, y is distance from wall)
Sometimes, the results at such profile is better over that at uniform profile. But now, if we are going to compute 3D case, what is the formulation for 3D developed inlet velocity? u=U((y/h)^1/7+(z/h)^1/7)/2 ??? u=U*sqrt( (y/h)^1/7+(z/h)^1/7)/2 ) ???? Thank you for your discussion. |
