Default Volume split -- Meshing

Hi all,

I used "volume split" (split the obstruction volume from tunnel volume) to create obstruction in a tunnel. After this I deleted the obstruction. Is this the correct method to represent an obstruction? Now can I mesh the entire volume at a time? What happens if I mesh the faces first and the volume next? Is there any special way to mesh the volume if the volume split is used?

Please help

Thanks.
