Pressure BC

Hi all, I have a question on defining rightly the pressure term for a pressure outlet boundary condition. I am modeling natural convection within an enclosure with free openings to the outside. When I am asked to enter the ambient ( = outside the domain) pressure should I enter the hydrostatic head ( = - (density * g * opening height)) or this is not required as it is computed automatically by the software. Any help will be appreciated, Thanks in advance,

Giacomo

hi,

u can give 0 gauge pressure at outlet wen the flow is going to atmosphere. at the same time u have to give pressure inlet B.C give boussinesq law for density variation in material panel. use body force weighted for pressure equation.

hello giacomo

the reply by ravi to your problem is good one if you want to find the pressure drop you can give zero gauge pressure.and at the inlet you can specify the velocity inlet
