Eulerian model and (friction) packing limit

Can anyone please explain me difference between Friction Packing Limit and Packing Limit?

Greetings, Rok

Re: Eulerian model and (friction) packing limit

Hello,

the Packing Limit is the maximun packing fraction you want to allow in your simulation.

When the packing fraction is higher than the value fixed for the Friction Packing Limit, FLUENT adds the contribution from Frictional Viscosity to the other viscosities (bulk, collisional, granular). You have to choose a model or fix a constant value (or a UDF). IF Friction Packing Limit=Packing Limit then Frictional Viscosity will be equal to 0 always.

I have obtained better results choosing Johnson model for Frictional Viscosity and Solids Pressure.

Hope it will help,

Roberto
