Default Liquid compressibility as a function of hydrostatic pressure

I am trying to model depressurization of an oil well. The well is ~5000m deep and is filled with water at high pressure. There is a huge hydrostatic pressure at the bottom of the well because of the vertical depth. Is there a way to account for compressiblity of water with hydrostatic pressure. Seems like the compressible liquid option only takes into account the static pressure and not the hydrostatic head.

Really appreciate the help. Thanks in advance.

Are you sure? If so, that's a bug and you should tell Fluent so they can fix it.

There is high density on the right and low density on the left. What else do you want?

In a deep well the hydrostatic head can be as high as 5,000 psi, so there is huge change in absolute pressure.

I am able to get the correct hydrostatic head by setting the reference density to 0.

If you want to see the hydrostatic pressure in the static pressure plot, then you need to set the operating pressure to 0. Yes that is correct.

I don't get what result you expect to see that is not shown here.


Also, boundary conditions = ???

Also why did you set (or leave as default) the maximum density ratio to 1.1?

Yes, that was the default max density ratio and the density I expect falls within this range.
