torque coefficient

Dear all,

Does any body know What the relation that fluent uses to compute the (torque)moment coefficient? I couldn't find something about it in the fluent documentation.

thank you in advance for any help

Re: torque coefficient

Coef = Torque / (0.5*A*rho*U^2)

Dear Max, the coefficient provided is not dimensionless but it does have a unit of m (meter). Any explanation?

Re: torque coefficient

Coefficients are dimensionless. I forgot the length...

Coeff= Torque/(0.5*rho*A*L*U^2)

Sorry (Thanks Friend for your units-check)

Coef = Torque / (0.5*A*rho*L*U^2)

Guys, I'm trying to calculate Cm but having difficult on finding moment. I use SC/Tetra and set 0.25c is the point I want to get moment value from. Shouldn't torque on a airfoil be the moment on z-axis? The values of Cm in experiment are all negative. I've tried different ways to calculate but only positive value I could get.
