Vel Profile in Y direction for 2-D flow

Hi all, For general 2 Dimensional fluid flow between two parallel plates, the Velocity profile is Parabolic for x-direction".....this profile is for u velocity ( Velocity in X Direction component).

Now what would be the Velocity Profile in Y direction component i.e. velocity profile in Y direction ?

thanks in advance

Re: Vel Profile in Y direction for 2-D flow

If your flow is in x direction, the walls are at y=0 and y=H and your velocity component are u (x-component) and v (y-component), the v is zero for laminar flow and the u has a parabolic profile in y but costant in x. Actually nothing changes in x for such a flow, so everything is a function of only the y coordinate.
