How to set up more than 270 planes in Fluent?

Hallo,

for analysing purposes, I need to create more than 270 bounded planes in the post processing (Surface -> Plane...). Since I do not want to spend about a week for typing the coordinates I am looking for an alternate, faster way.

I have all coordinates for the planes in an Excel-file. So, it would be best, if I could just write a code and copy&paste the coordinates.

I thought, that I could maybe modify the case/data file of my simulation and insert the planes there. However, I was not able to find the passage, where the planes are defined.

Does anyone has an idea how to accelerate the creation of the planes?

Good bye,

Julian

So I found a solution.

Using an Excel macro I created a journal file for Fluent containing all the coordinates. Now, Fluent does all the work for me, automatically...

Hello,
Could you tell me exactly how the journal file works ? I am in a similar situation where I need to input over 200 surface points instead of surface planes.

Thank you very much.
