Default MODELING TWO MATERIALS IN FLUENT

Hello,

I would like to know if it's possible to model two types of materials in FLUENT.

For example would it be possible to allow dust AND air to travel through an inlet and through a duct - and then eventually seperate with the air passing through a vent?

Almost like what a centrifuge does.

I'm new to FLUENT so any ideas would be extremely helpful!

Thank you!

You should use a multiphase model where you can asign different material phases. Fluents Users Guide explains very well which of the available multiphase models is most appropriate for each case of multiphase flow.

The available multiphase models are

The Eulerian Model (more suitable for granular flows) The mixture Model The VOF Model

I think that the Eulerian Model seemms more suitable for your case.

Actullay I guess for this case you could just use the dpm model. That is if dust volume fraction is low enough in the mixture.
