How I can setup Fluent for a Define_Profile on FZ?

I have a UDF code wich have a Define_Profile on a Fluid Zone.

For a Velocity Inlet is easy setup Define_profile because it have a appropriate label for input profiles.

But when we define a profile in a Fluid Zone we have only a Fixed Values, Source Terms, Laminar Zone and Porous Zone. So, to setup correctely the boundary conditions we need go to Boundary Painel and the ID label is a INDEX number for Define_Profile(name,thread,INDEX).

My question is, how i can tell Fluent the Fluid Zone have a specific profile? In other words, how can setup Define_Profile for a Fluid Zone?

The flow in the fluid zone will be calculated by the solver, so the only reason you may want to specify a profile for the fluid zone is for initilization purposes. Is that correct? If this is correct, you may want to use Define_init.

Otherwise, I don't see why you need to specify a profile inside a fluid zone.

Hope that helps.

My question is: When we setup Fixed Values on Fluid Zone Painel, avlues of variables are constants in each iteration or in all computation until computation converge?

Looking at the FLUENT user's documentation, you can in fact use the Define_Profile for fixing the values inside your fluid zone.

In the UDF documentation it provides an example of using the Define_Profile for fixing the values in your fluid zone. it is example 3 in section 2.3.13 of the UDF documentation.

The fixed valued variables will have a fixed value for every iteration until convergence have been achieved.

Hope that helps.

zongtwi I had be see the manual. My doubt is if i have a varaiable wich are defined on defined_adjust (at every iteration and is called at the beginning of every iteration), and I need that variable is constant in each iteration on define profile.

Hi Nuno,
Have you define profile on fluid zone? If you suceed, Do you mind telling me your method?
