Hi guys!

I have a question related to wall functions...i was reading the FLUENT guide and i found u can apply wall functions to solve the boundary layer when ur grid is coarse and cannot catch all of it...

in my case i have to work with a size cell of y+=100!!! so, which way do u suggest me to catch better the boundary layer??

If your Y+ is around 100, then you should be using the standard wall function or the non equilibrium wall function, both with the k-e model. I'd recommend the realizable k-e model.

thanks for answering so quickly, yes i was thinking the same, to apply standard wall function, but i wasnt sure of being enough to catch the BL working with such a high y+... what do u think??

That's the whole point of using wall functions! Just follow the recommendations in the User's Guide, and you'll be fine.
