Fluent File Size

Just curious if anyone would have any idea why Fluent would seem to randomly want to double the size of my data file. I have a data file that is 1.3 gigabytes zipped. I read that file into the 64-bit Linux version of Fluent, did some post processing, and resaved the case and data file. The case file didn't change in size but the size of the data file has now more than doubled to >3 gigabytes. The new file is written out binary and is compressed, same as the original. As far as I can tell, the two data files are exactly the same, other than the new file size.

Maybe it has to do with single versus double precision version of Fluent. Reading a single precision data file into DP version of Fluent and then writing it out would roughly double its size.

Thanks, Remus, that very well could be it. The original file was single precision and I did load it into a double precision solver.
