Hi,
I am estimating the heat transfer coefficient for a simple pipe flow which is subjected to constant heat flux. i would like to estiamte the Heat transfer coefficient (HTC) based on mean temperature inside the pipe. As Mean temperature varies along the length. it is difficult to change the reference value inside the report->reference values in FLUENT panel which is always a constant. Is there any procedure or UDF to estimate the HTC with mean temperature. Thanks in advance and i need solution of above problem urgently. Please share your ideas. Regards Zorba |

calculate your HTC in postprecess. you can use custom field functions, or you export your result to a text file, then calculate it in excel. just for reference! whiz

You can directly define it in the FLUENT GUI.
