flux through individual cells / face areas

I'm trying to calculate total Q through individual cells in a 3D model. I initially tried multiplying Vx, Vy, and Vz by the respective face areas (x, y, and z) as a Custom field function. There seems to be a problem with the calculated face areas calculated in Fluent, as for many faces all 3 face areas this value is zero. Does anyone know a better way to calculate flux through an individual cell or has anyone had a similar problem with the face areas? (I have also used x, y, and z surface areas and achieved the same result)

Any comments on this?

I'm still investigating this using UDF's...
