pathlines through sliding interface

hello, I compute unsteady flow around ship propeller and rudder behind it, with sliding interface between moving mesh with propeller and stationary zone with rudder. The computed forces are o.k. and solution seems to be converged. But when I try to display pathlines some of them seem to stop just at sliding interface but some not. I am not sure is this a problem with graphic presentation? Does anybody have a solution or maybe an explanation? Thank you very much for any help. p.s. fluent version: 6.3.26, parallel, 40 procs. greetings, tom

Hello Tom.

Excuse me for my English.
I see that your question are so long time without answer. You ask a difficult question.
Not everyone developer of CFD solver knows the answer. And some scientists doesn't see this phenomenon of smearing. I think neither CFX nor Fluent can solve this problem with smearing wakes by using sliding grid interface.
I investigated this phenomenon in 2006 in my thesis for a Doctor's degree.
You can avoid this problem if will not use relative system of coordinates for a propeller. The propeller grid should not move as well as a rudder grid.
I'm sorry, but in Fluent or CFX you can't make this nowadays.
With Best Regards!

Yuriy.

pro engineer wants to get dire help

Sir m student of aerospace engineering. I have a project on CFD of propeller at cruise conditions.
Can u plz help me how to do a dynamic meshing of propeller i.e boundary conditions to get results . I will be very thankful to u in this regard.
