How to keep K constant ???

I am modeling the behavior of gas liquid interface in a tank using VOF model, The tank has no inlet or outlet.

I wish to keep K constant in some of the cells. But I cannot use fixed values option as it does not solve k equation at all.

How can I keep k constant in fixed number of cells such that value of k in those cells does not change with time.

I assume you want k constant in only part of the domain.

one option

define it as a separate fluid or solid zone and set it as a fixed zone under the cell zone condition and put the values in as desired.

to create the new zone you could define it separately in your mesh generator or if it is not that easy you could separate it out in Fluent. I usually use the mark option for the latter and mark the cells under the adaption tab (region, iso-value, whatever makes sense for your case)

Dear Scott

u r right i want to keep k constant only in certain part of the domain.

Your idea of defining a separate fluid zone is good, but if I give k constant for any of the domains, fluent will not solve k at all.( as per the user manual) Hence I am not going for that option.

Can you suggest any other method.

give me a reference (section number) for where you read that in the manual.

Thanks
