LES & DES Question for wall modelling

Is there such a thing as Wall-Functions for LES & DES Models? I know there no option in FLUENT, but has there been any application/research paper and is it in any way feasible?

Thank you

James

Re: LES & DES Question for wall modelling

I don't know about DES but in the Fluent's LES there is the automatic activation of the standard wall model for, as i remember, y+ bigger than 30.

For smaller values there is a blending of the log-law and the linear-law, and for y+ smaller than 5 there should be the simple dirichlet boundary condition.

For more informations you can check the manual, the turbulence modeling chapter is where this kind of informations is contained.
