I am part of a group planning on doing research in the Re = 30000 range. I have heard from more experienced researchers in the field that CFD simulations between 20000 and 800000 are notoriously error-ridden, though I have found a paper put out by researchers at the Japan Research Laboratory that speaks to the contrary (via comparison with LDV and PIV systems at Re = 29k, 49k, and 67k). I'm looking for a second (or third, as it were) opinion about this. What are your thoughts?
