Hi.

I have a problem in making a periodic boundary condition, it happens when i try to make my mesh finer. fluent gives me this Error.

Warning: differing number of faces on these threads.
computed translation deltas: 0.100000 -0.000126
zone 20016: matched 83 out of 83 faces.
zone 30021: matched 83 out of 84 faces.
Error: Failed to make zones periodic.
Error Object: #f

Thank you.

with what software did you build your mesh? Using ICEM? Have you checked your mesh for errors? What did you obtain?

Lots of reasons can cause this error. But first, make sure you're in double precision.

It looks like you are using auto compute. Are the translation deltas even correct? Try to input the translation vector manually, it helps.

If that doesn't work, most likely it is a meshing problem.

Thank you for your replies,

My problem was because of using a conformal periodic bc, so when i used a non-conformal periodic bc it worked out.

Thanks to banty.

U first convert the boundary as interface BC and then go to interface panel and make them periodic (Non-conformal). Non-conformal periodic BC also gives the good result.
