Dear all,

Before i go any further, i think better i explain a little bit about my projects. I'm doing simulation on mist elimination system where a gas stream with a fraction of mist ( water fraction = 0.004, droplet's diameter = 0.1 mm ) is allowed to pass through torturous channels with a velocity of 4-7m/s. I chose to use mixture multhiphase model to deal with my two phases problem.

I've got the following result as I summarize the mass- flow through the inlet and outlet of the passage.

For the mixture:
zone 5 (inlet): 0.12247331
zone 4 (outlet): -0.12246391
net mass-flow: 9.3979068e-06

For the primary-phase which is air
zone 5 (inlet): 0.12246401
zone 4 (outlet): -0.12246391
net mass-flow: 1.0460325e-07

For the secondary phase which is water
zone 5 (inlet): 0
zone 4 (outlet): 0
net mass-flow: 0

I'm wondering why the mass-flow for water is zero. It seems like fluent already pre-defined the mixture's phase fraction as zero for the water. Would anyone advise me on this matter?

Hi,

Im pretty new to Fluent but I can simply see why the net-mass is 0. As with the mixture and primary phase it is zone 5 minus zone 4.

I think what you need to do is analyse internally in the model with the surface tools.

Hope im not stating the obvious,
