Saima is an unknown quantity at this point
Hi,

I have a problem in which a heater is on leading edge of an airfoil and this airfoil is placed in Icing wind tunnel. Air is inside the tunnel at -5C. And water spray by using atomizer is also there.

I want to calculate the catch rate of droplet on the leading edge of Airfoil.
(that means how much droplet impinge on leading edge)

I know, we can determine the Concentration(Kg/m3) but i don't know how to calculate Catch rate(gm/in2).
Can anybody help me.

Thanks in Advace!!

Regards,
Saima

nat is on a distinguished road
Hi Saima,

I have as well the same probleme... Did you find a way to calculate the local catch efficiciency using DPM.

To calculate the catch efficiency over an airfoil I use to export the droplet trajectories to a spreadsheet and then after a bit of data post processing I obtain the local catch efficiency curve. I am looking for a more straightforward method.

Thanks,

Nat
