Pure plume: use different viscous models in different regions of a simulation
 
Hi,

I'm trying to simulate the convective flow above a horizontal round heated plate, in a large room.

While the plume should be turbulent, using a laminar model fits the experimental data for centerline velocity much better than RNG: with RNG the maximum centerline velocity is reached much farther away from the origin than on experimental data (or laminar).

I am wondering if this may have to do with the fact that the plume is indeed laminar for its early stage, and whether I can model the lower section of my plume as laminar flow, and then the upper part as turbulent (wth RNG).

Is it possible to do that in Fluent?
