Hi all!

Anyone know how to set a slip wall condition in FLUENT?

Under the wall boundary condition, we can choose between no-slip or specified shear. Is specified shear relevant? How about specularity coefficient and Marangoni stress?

Please help!!

Thanks!!

I found the way to set slip wall condition in FLUENT. According to FLUENT 6.3 User's Guide, 7.13 Wall Boundary Conditions:

"... In viscous flows, the no-slip boundary condition is enforced at walls by default, but you can specify a tangential velocity component in terms of the translational or rotational motion of the wall boundary, or model a "slip'' wall by specifying shear. (You can also model a slip wall with zero shear using the symmetry boundary type ..."

Experts, please leave your comment!!

Now another problem has appeared, for microfluids, slip velocity boundary condition at wall is given by Maxwell equations. Apparently, the shear is not zero at the wall but not as big as the shear under no-slip condition.

If anyone got the idea to implement the Maxwell equations to set the slip wall condition, please share with us.

Thanks!
