i am quoting a paragraph from chapter 07 of fluent 6.2 user guide.

The turbulent intensity at the core of a fully developed duct flow can be estimated from the following formula.

I= 0.16(Re)^(-1/8)

here Re= reynold's number based on hydraulic diameter
