Species Transport of Dye Tracer in Water

Hello all,

Im trying to simulate the injection of a dye tracer from an aerodynamic object that is immersed in water. Water is flowing over the object at a very slow rate.

Now what I have done so far was turn on species transport and defined the properties of my dye-water mixture. My geometry also has a rectangular port which I defined as a velocity-inlet BC. Now in the boundary farfield, i click on the species tab and set mass fraction of water as 1. For the rectangular port, i click on the species tab and set the mass fraction of the dye as 1. I try to start my steady state simulation and it diverges straight away.

Now as I am really new to this kind of multi species simulation work, I know that there is surely a whole lot of things i am missing that i need before i can simulate this sort of flow. Can you guys please help me point out what else i need to do? Or what I am doing wrong?

Thanks,
Darren

Hello DarrenC,

Did u managed to do the dye and water simulation? I am really desperate for help as I am really new to Fluent. Can you teach me the steps if you managed to solve it.

I really appreciate the help. Thank you in advance.
